Cowboys Return To Practice
December 02, 2006 | Cowboy Football
The Cowboys finished the regular season with a 6-6 record and are expected to receive an invitation to a postseason bowl Sunday.
OSU head coach Mike Gundy said the extra practices allowed teams headed to bowl games are invaluable, especially for a squad as young as the Cowboys, and he was pleased with his team's effort after a week off.
“We had a good practice (Saturday),” Gundy said. “Guys were spirited and excited to be back out there.”
After missing out on a bowl game last season, the Cowboys are anxious about a return to the postseason for the fourth time in five years.
“It's really exciting, and I'm thankful that my team and I have an opportunity to play in a bowl,” said OSU sophomore quarterback Bobby Reid. “It was one of our major goals, and it feels good accomplishing a goal as a team.
“Today set the foundation for how practices are going to be. We were out there having fun. Everybody got reps today. (Coach Gundy's) idea of a bowl game is guys having fun and everybody participating and being healthy. We're just gonna have fun and then try and go win a game.”
The Cowboys will return to practice Sunday at 3:30 p.m. The practice is open to the public.
