Hamilton, an Idabel High School product, brings impressive credentials including three 4A state championship honors in the discus and two gold medals in the shot put. The 6-2 thrower posted personal records of 147-11 and 42-9 in the discus and shot put, respectively.
“It was a great decision for me,” Hamilton said. “Stillwater is a nice small town and it felt like home. I hope to help the team out in any way I can as I am excited about representing Oklahoma State.”
Cowgirl throwing coach John Baumann said the five-time state champion is a tremendous athlete who will have the potential to become a prized thrower at OSU.
“(Katie) is a great addition to our team,” Baumann said. “She is going to be the catalyst for our throwers in the near future. She has the size and awareness to become a Big 12 champion and an All-American.”
