Oklahoma State Soccer Earns Academic Honors

Oklahoma State's soccer team led the Big 12 with 12 Academic All-Big 12 selections, the conference office announced today.

The Cowgirls had 11 student athletes named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team, including sophomores Angelika Feldbacher and Jamie Markaverich who were both honored with 4.0 grade point averages.

Junior Yolanda Odenyo was named to the first team after being named Big 12 Co-player of the Year.

Other Cowgirls honored were sophomores Bettina Grossmann, Jessica Jarrell and Erin Stigler; juniors Niccole Grimaldi, Sasa Jackson and Adriane Radtke and seniors Katie Lacey and Jeanne Rankin. Redshirt freshman Leah Hope earned second team honors.

A student-athlete must maintain a 3.2 GPA, while participating in 60 percent of the team's schedule to be named to the first team.

Oklahoma State earned the No. 2 seed at the Big 12 Championship and is getting set to take on seventh-seeded Oklahoma on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in San Antonio.
