2005: Porter posted a 9-3 record on the season ... won an open title at the Fort Hays State Open ... wrestled in three duals where he went 2-1 ... his first dual meet was the Bedlam match where he faced Oklahoma's Joe Comparin ... Porter lost an overtime decision ... had a big day on the west coast where he beat Cal Poly's Eric Maelgares by a 19-8 major decision before pinning Fresno State's Joe Mavins in the third period.
2004: Posted an 11-9 record wrestling in tournaments ... eight of his 11 victories came by fall ... had a stretch where he won four matches in a row by fall ... his longest winning streak on the season was six, five of those came by fall ... his quickest fall was one minute, 35 seconds over Lindenwood's Ricky Guzman ... lost a major decision to NCAA Qualifier Patrick Dowty of Eastern Illinois and a decision to qualifier Josh Keefe of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
High School: Porter comes to Oklahoma State as a two-time state champion from Vinita High School ... he was also a two-time Cadet Freestyle All-American and the 2002 Junior Freestyle National Runner-up ... he also earned three letters as a running back and cornerback for the football team.
Personal: Born on July 31, 1984 ... son of Jay and Connie Porter ... is majoring in business ... enjoys playing other sports outside of wrestling.
