Last Week
Oklahoma State improved to 14-2-2 overall and 8-1-1 in Big 12 play to secure the No. 2 seed in the Big 12 Championship. The Cowgirls wrapped up the conference season with a 2-0 victory over Nebraska. It is only the second victory by OSU in the history of the series and it is now 2-9 all-time against the Cornhuskers. OSU got a goal in the 18th minute off of a penalty kick. Jesyca Rosholt was taken down in the box and Adriane Radtke stepped up and buried it for her fourth goal of the season. Rosholt added an insurance goal in the 71st minute to give the Cowgirls a more comfortable two goal lead. The Cowgirls had a struggle with in-state rival Oral Roberts. The game was scoreless at halftime, but in the 65th minute, Kasey Langdon broke the scoreless tie with her third game winner of the season. Erin Stigler recorded the shutout in both games. It was her fifth shutout of the season and the ninth of the year for Oklahoma State.
Lacey Receives National Honor
Senior defender Katie Lacey was named to the national team of the week by TopDrawerSoccer.com. It was her second honor of the season as she helped OSU shut out Nebraska and Oral Roberts. Lacey has been the key component to the OSU defense that has allowed only 13 goals all season. She has started all 18 games on the season, and has also scored three goals to help OSU mount second half comebacks.
Cowgirls Set Mark
Oklahoma State set a school record with 14 regular season wins after beating Oral Roberts. OSU can tie the season record with a win at Murray State. OSU's previous best season came in 2003 when the Cowgirls went 15-5-3 and won the Big 12 Championship.
Lacey Comes Through in the Clutch
Just a week after senior defender Katie Lacey scored two goals in the final seven minutes of regulation against Iowa State to force overtime, Lacey did it again. This time OSU was trailing Texas Tech 2-1 with less than eight minutes on the clock when Lacey scored her third goal of the season to tie the game. The Cowgirls settled for a tie at Texas Tech, but Lacey saved it from being a loss.
