October 23, 2006 | Cowgirl Soccer
Senior defender Katie Lacey was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week this week for the second time this season.
Lacey was solid in defense as she helped OSU to a pair of shutouts over regionally ranked Nebraska and in-state rival Oral Roberts. Lacey helped shut down a Nebraska offense that includes All-American Brittany Timko.
The Yukon, Okla. native earned the honor earlier this season after scoring a pair of goals in the final seven minutes of regulation to force overtime against Iowa State. Lacey scored also scored the equalizer against Texas Tech to send that game to overtime.
Oklahoma State is 14-2-2 on the season and has earned the No. 2 seed in next week's Big 12 Tournament. The Cowgirls have jumped to ninth in the national rankings in the latest poll released by Soccer Buzz.
