Randy Rutherford

Randy Rutherford is no stranger to the Cowboy Basketball program. He was instrumental in OSU's appearance in the 1995 Final Four, and has returned to OSU as the assistant strength & conditioning coach. He is in his third year as a member of the basketball staff.
Rutherford was a three-year letterman for Oklahoma State from 1992-95. As a senior, he led the team to a Big Eight Tournament championship and the Cowboys' first Final Four appearance in 45 years. He averaged 15.6 points and 5.1 rebounds in 99 collegiate games.
After leaving OSU, Rutherford spent eight years playing professional basketball overseas. He played his final four seasons with the Brisbane Bullets of the NBL in Australia, where he was named All-NBL second team in 2002.
Born Dec. 4, 1971, Rutherford is the son of Patricia Ann Thompson. He earned his degree in sociology from Oklahoma State in 2004. Randy enjoys playing pool and hanging out with friends and family in his spare time.
