Cowgirl Newcomers Perform Well at adidas Classic

Sophomore's Deleanor Kirkpatrick and LaKendra Greathouse highlighted OSU in the throwing events, as the two set personal best marks in their events.
In the weight throw, Kirkpatrick finished fourth with a distance of 55'05.75” (16.91-meters), while sophomore Branighan Vann had a mark of 45'0.5” (13.73-meters).
Greathouse set a personal mark of 47'07.25” (14.51-meters) to finish second in shot put. Freshman Merritt Dietz, who is a native of
OSU claimed three of top five finishes in the 1,000-meter run, as sophomore Eva Tomankova led the way with a second-place time of 2:55.24. Junior Eva Slavikova (2:57.20) and freshman Nina Andersson (2:58.06) finished third and fourth, respectively.
In the 3.000-meter race, sophomore Maria Trejo set a personal best mark, by nearly 14 seconds with a time of 10:40.69. Redshirt freshman Brittany Hill timed out at 10:43.60, while junior Stephanie Lovely ran a time of 10:58.93.
Senior's Sarah Walker (third-place) and Melissa N'dubilo (fifth-place) both had top five finishes in the 400-meter dash. The duo crossed the finish line with times of 1:00.86 and 1:01.35.
Also for OSU, freshman Kalea Tam gained experience in the 600-yard dash as she ran a time of 1:33.25.
“It was a good way for our team and our newcomers to start the season,” Cowgirl head coach Rene Sepulveda said.
OSU will continue indoor action Saturday, Feb. 4, as some will travel to the Meyo Invitational in
