2004 Medina spent the first half of the season rehabbing her way back to full health, before returning back to her first meet at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships ... finished 19th at the Big 12 Championships with a time of 22:14 to help the Cowgirls finish third in the team standings ... ran well at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships, by placing 16th ... was the Big 12 Champion in the 1,500-meter run, during the outdoor track and field season.
2003 Valentina sat out for a redshirt season to develop into a stronger runner for the 2004 season.
2002 Participated at the Big 12 Championships and finished in 12th-place.
2001 Medina was one of the more successful Cowgirls in 2001... she was a major part of the Cowgirls nationally ranked cross country team ... she ran the 6K Chili Pepper, in a time of 21:39 ... she finished 13th at the Big 12 Championships ... she then finished with her best performance of the year at the Midwest Regional with a ninth-place finish.
HIGH SCHOOL Valentina won the National Junior Championships in the 1,500-meter and 800-meter ... she also played basketball ... she holds seven national records in Venezuela.
PERSONAL Born February 12, 1981 ... she is an accounting major ... enjoys listening to music and reading books ... she has a sister, Georgina (23) and a brother, Jose B. (25) ... is the daughter of Jose and Irma Medina.
