Cowgirls Down McNeese State in South Louisiana Shootout
September 10, 2005 | Cowgirl Soccer
OSU remained unbeaten on the season improving to 4-0-2, while MSU dropped to 2-3 on the year.
The Cowgirls had two goals called back for offside, but one goal proved to be more than enough as OSU was dominant on defense. Jeanne Rankin recorded her second shutout of the season, but the credit goes to the defense in front of her who did not let McNeese State get off a single shot attempt.
The Cowgirls took 13 shots on the night, but once again had trouble finding the net. Rosholt took six of the shots and was able to sneak one of them past Mcneese State keeper Aubrey Ross for the game winning goal. It was Rosholt's third goal of the season.
Ross was the lone bright spot for McNeese State who had three saves, but could not keep OSU off of the board in the first half.
Oklahoma State will continue the trip with a community service outing tomorrow to aid Hurricane Katrina victims before concluding the tournament against Louisiana-Lafayette on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the UL Soccer Complex.
