Getting to know the newcomers: Quinton Moore
September 01, 2005 | Cowboy Football
“Oklahoma State is a good upcoming program with good coaches. I came here because I have friends that are here and we want to help make this program better.”
What has been the biggest adjustment from high school to Division I football?
“The biggest adjustment has been learning the defensive techniques. Coming from a 4-4 defense to a 4-3 defense is a big change, but I am doing well.”
What do you expect out of yourself this season?
“I expect myself to come out on the field adjust well to the speed (of the game). I expect to gain experience and be a better player next year.”
How would you describe coach (Vance) Bedford?
“Coach Bedford is the best coach I have had. He has helped ever since I have been here, and he knows what he's talking about.”
What player do you try to model your play after?
“My favorite NFL player growing up was Deion Sanders, but I don't feel that I model my game after him because I like to be my own player.”
What are the biggest assets you bring to the field?
“My biggest asset is my speed. I am still learning, but I feel like I'm physical enough to play.”
What do you do away from football?
“I work out a little extra sometimes. I like to hang out with my friends, watch movies, go out to eat and play video games.”
What has the relationships been like with the other defensive backs?
“The relationships have been great. It seems that we have played together for a while because we all get along, and we're all there for each other. We have a lot of fun while we are out on the field, too.”
What do you expect out of yourself Saturday against Montana State?
“I expect a little playing time so I can show what I can do during a game, instead of at practice. I haven't had my best practices. The coaches always say practice like you play. It's hard for me to do that because I feel like I turn on a switch during a gameday atmosphere. Everyone is going to see a whole different player.”
