“It helped me and it helped a lot of other players.”
How has practice been so far this season?
“Practice has been good and hard. The practices have made me and a lot of other players better.”
What has been the biggest adjustment from junior college to division I?
“Speed has been the biggest adjustment because everything we do out on the field has gone at a fast pace.”
Do you expect yourself to go out this year and play a leadership role, even though this is your first season?
“I expect for myself to be a leader, as well as my teammates doing the same thing. It's a team effort, and they expect a lot out of me leadership wise and I expect a lot out of them.”
What are your biggest assets you bring to the defensive line?
“The biggest assets I bring to the field are my abilities to rush, push and my speed.”
How has the relationship been with coach (Nelson) Barnes, and what impresses you the most about him?
“He is a great coach. He is one of the newest coaches out here and I learn a lot from him because he knows his stuff. He has taught me techniques that I have never learned, and he will get you ready for every aspect of the game.”
What impresses you the most about the team?
“I have been impressed with how every player out here has a good heart. I have been with a few teams that went out and just played, but this team has a lot of heart and everyone wants to win. That is why I came here because every one of the these guys want to win and they all have good hearts.”
Who has been the most competitive offensive lineman you have gone against in practice?
“Corey Hilliard is a fun and competitive guy to go up against because he is tough. I also believe that this whole offensive line will be tough because they make it hard for the defensive line.”
Why did you choose Oklahoma State?
“I chose to come here because when I came on my visit I felt like I was at home. I also got to know the players and coaches and it made me feel comfortable here.”
