Cowboys Report For Preseason Camp
August 04, 2005 | Cowboy Football
Exactly one month ahead of the 2005 season opener against Montana State, Oklahoma State's football Cowboys reported to Stillwater Wednesday and will begin preseason practices Thursday afternoon.
First-year head coach Mike Gundy welcomed 104 players, including 22 newcomers, to campus Wednesday. The players reported to campus before noon and went through a series of check-in procedures ranging from scholarship and financial aid issues to checking into preseason housing.
OSU's 2005 Cowboys were also issued equipment Wednesday afternoon and had their initial team dinner and team meeting Wednesday evening.
“We're excited to get everyone here and actually get on the practice field Thursday,” Coach Gundy said. “We've got a couple of days of acclimatization, but we're looking forward to getting a lot accomplished.”
Oklahoma State's first preseason workout is scheduled for Thursday, August 4, at 4:30 on the grass fields east of the Athletic Center. Cowboy practices through August 17 are open to the general public, but anyone attending practice should be aware of several items.
Fans are allowed inside the fence only through the middle gate on the west side of the fields. Once inside, fans must remain behind the orange line marked on the west end of the fields.
