Cowgirls Drown Out Ole Miss in Soccer Exhibition

The game was delayed 1 1/2 hours, and did not start until 8:40 p.m. An estimated 200 people stuck around for the game to start.
The Cowgirls wasted no time giving the fans something to cheer about as Ashlyn Brantley drilled a shot into the corner of the net just eight minutes into the game.
Cassie Lewis put OSU on top 2-0 just before halftime when she beat the keeper after Jamie Markaverich flipped the ball in front of the net.
Jeanne Rankin recorded a shutout, while Breanna Truelove backed her up in the second half.
Ole Miss out shot OSU 10-9, but it only had four shots directed at the goal. The Cowgirls had seven shots on net with two getting past the Mississippi keeper, Ann Shelton.
The Cowgirls open the season next Friday, August 26 at 7 p.m. against Texas State. It is welcoming night for OSU students as all students get in free with a valid student ID, and various other promotions are available to all students who present a valid ID.
