Meet Tevin Williams
August 11, 2005 | Cowboy Football
Q: Being back in
A: “It feels real good because I have a lot of support coming from this town. The coaches expect me to do big things here. Playing in my home town has always been a dream for me. I will be playing in front of many people that I know, and a lot of people will be rooting for me.”
Q: Arriving in the Spring, has it helped you develop into a better player?
A: “Definitely, because I know all of the routes, formations and I know how to execute my plays better.”
Q: What has been the biggest adjustment from junior college to division I?
A: “One of the biggest adjustments has been the meetings. There have been a lot more of them here than what I was used to at junior college. The speed of the game is another adjustment because Division I is so fast and everyone out on the field has talent.”
Q: How would you describe your style of play?
A: “I am a physical type of receiver. I like going deep, and I'm not scared to go over the middle to make a catch. I will do anything that will help us win.”
Q: What are your thoughts on coach (Gunter) Brewer?
A: “He is a good coach because he has taught me a lot of fundamentals. He is the coach that I need right now, because he knows what he is talking about since he has been in the game for a while.”
Q: How would you describe the group of wide receivers?
A: “Everyone is talented and fighting for a starting position. Each one of us are trying to work hard and earn playing time on the field.”
Q: What are your goals this season?
A: “My goals are to be a starting receiver, win a Big 12 Championship and be named all-conference.”
Q: How would you describe the team effort so far this season?
A: “The team is working hard, even though it is hot. We are all trying to come together so that we can go out and win as many games as we can.”
