Ten Questions with Defensive Tackle Josh Pinaire

Q: Has being able to practice in the spring helped you out so far?
A: It helped out quite a bit. I can definitely tell that I have improved quite a bit.
Q: What has been the biggest difference between JUCO and Big 12 football?
A: Just the prestige of the program and the nicer stuff. Everything is top of the line here, which is really nice. It helps out a lot.
Q: Is there anyone on the defensive line that you look up to?
A: All the veteran defensive line guys. (Ryan) McBean and me work together quite a bit since we came in at the same time and are both new.
Q: What are your impressions of defensive line coach Nelson Barnes?
A: He is a great coach. I really like him a lot. I was a little apprehensive at first with the whole coaching change. We have got a long pretty well and I like him a lot.
Q: What about coach Gundy?
A: He is a great guy and I am glad that he got the job. I think he will do a great job with Oklahoma State.
Q: Why did you choose Oklahoma State?
A: It was close to home and I wanted to play in the Big 12. I also saw a good opportunity to come in and contribute.
Q: What are your expectations for yourself and the defensive line this year?
A: The number one goal, for me, is to get some playing time. I hope as a group we are at least at the top of the Big 12.
Q: Has anybody stepped up so far in a leadership role on the defensive line?
A: Of course, XLK (Xavier Lawson-Kennedy) has. Ryan McBean is also one. They are both doing a great job. All the older guys are doing a good job.
Q: What are your impressions of the offensive line so far?
A: They are tough. They are doing a good job and they are making us better. They compete well with us. They do a real good job.
Q: What do you do with your time away from football to relax?
A: Right now I just sleep. That is about all I have time for. I usually just need to get off my feet and rest up.
