Kuncova Wins Her Second Czech Republic National Championship

PRAGUE, Czech Republic Â– Oklahoma State's women's track and field team had two student-athletes compete at the 2005 Czech Republic National Championships, in Prague, Czech Republic.

Senior Barbora Kuncova defended her national championship in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by running a time of 10:13.

Along with Kuncova, sophomore Eva Tomankova, finished third in the championship run with a personal best of 10:28.

A week later, sophomore Mary Davies ran her first 3,000-meter steeplechase and finished second behind Kuncova with a time of 10:32. Davies, a New Zealand native, was an invited guest to the Czech event.

“This was a good ending for Mary, Barbora and Eva to a successful 2005 track season,” head coach Rene Sepulveda said.
