Walter Thomas
June 28, 2005 | Cowboy Football
Thomas made a real impact in 2004 as a true freshman, and returns this season to help anchor the interior of the Oklahoma State defense. His size is impressive and he can be virtually unblockable at times. Thomas has incredible strength to go along with his size, and could be on his way to developing into one of the premier defensive players in this part of the country. 2004: Thomas saw extensive action at defensive tackle as a true freshman. He played in 11 of OSU's 12 games and made nine tackles, including one for loss, with a fumble recovery. He recorded a season high of two tackles against Texas A&M. He made one tackle in six games: Baylor, Missouri, Colorado, SMU, Tulsa and UCLA. High School: Thomas was a Texas Top 100 prospect and a two-time all-district selection. Besides Texas A&M, he was also recruited by Houston, Arizona, Oklahoma, Iowa State and Nebraska. Personal: Born May 20, 1985, Thomas is the son of Walter Thomas and Margie Nell Qualls. He has one brother, Shannon Qualls and a sister, Kimberly Thomas. Walter is undecided on his major at Oklahoma State.
