One of the anchors of Oklahoma State's defense in 2005, Pinson is already a three-year letterman and a veteran of 18 career starts. Pinson started every game in 2004 and continued to exhibit the winning traits OSU coaches saw in him when he arrived from Jenks High School as a true freshman. He is fundamentally sound and has great size and quickness. Pinson should be considered an honors candidate in 2005. 2004: Season-long starter at linebacker, Pinson finished with 46 unassisted tackles and 23 assists for a total of 69. He had three tackles for minus 15 yards and had one sack for minus 11 yards. Pinson had nine tackles, including one for loss, against Texas Tech. He led the team with eight tackles  seven primary stops  in the win over Baylor. He had four tackles against Texas and recorded seven tackles against Oklahoma. He finished with nine tackles in the win over Missouri and had one tackle against Texas A&M. He made five tackles and had a quarterback hurry against Colorado, and made four tackles with a sack, a fumble recovery and quarterback hurry against Iowa State. He made one tackle against SMU and finished with six tackles against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. He made seven stops in the win over UCLA, making his first start since being sidelined by a leg injury against Louisiana-Lafayette in October of 2003. 2003: Pinson played in five games and had 35 total tackles and three tackles for losses before he suffered a right leg injury against Louisiana-Lafayette. He made five tackles in that game. He finished with five tackles, including a sack, against SMU, and made seven tackles, including one for loss, against SMS. Lawrence had six tackles and a quarterback hurry against Wyoming. Against Nebraska, he recorded a double-digit tackle total with 12. 2002: Pinson played in all 13 games as a true freshman and made one start against SMU. He finished with 40 tackles, including three for losses and an interception. His top tackle game was against Baylor when he made six stops. He also recorded five-tackle performances against Kansas and SMU. Pinson recorded his first-career interception against Texas, and had four tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage, in the Houston Bowl. High School: Pinson was an outstanding player who helped lead Jenks to a sixth-straight state title in Class 6A his senior season. His defensive numbers included 92 total tackles, six sacks, two fumble recoveries, and three fumbles caused. He also played fullback, with six carries for 79 yards. Pinson was one of the outstanding players in his class, as he was also recruited by Nebraska, LSU, Missouri and Kansas. Personal: Born on Dec. 9, 1983, in Miami, Fla., Lawrence is the son of Larry and Lennelle Pinson. He has six brothers. One brother, Larry, Jr., played football at OU and OSU. Lawrence lists playing the saxophone, listening to Christian rap, working out, reading a good book, writing poetry, and writing Christian music as his favorite past times. He is majoring in marketing at Oklahoma State.
