Jamar Ransom

Ransom is a veteran of Oklahoma State's defensive unit and he'll return in 2005 to add talent and depth to the secondary. He earned his third OSU letter in 2004 and he's played in 35 games over the past three seasons. Ransom made an impact as a true freshman and has contributed ever since. He has 89 career tackles and two career interceptions. 2004: Ransom played in 11 games as a defensive secondary reserve and special teamer and finished with 23 total tackles, including four in the Alamo Bowl against Ohio State. He notched three tackles against Texas Tech, Colorado and Iowa State. He had tackles against Baylor, Texas and Missouri. He recored two tackles against Oklahoma and Texas A&M. 2003: Ransom finished the season with 51 total tackles, 37 of which were unassisted. He recorded an assisted tackle against Kansas, and finished with six total tackles against Texas. He had one tackle against Oklahoma, and equaled his career best with six tackles against Texas Tech. Jamar also had a pass breakup and an interception, his second of the year, in the game vs. the Red Raiders. He finished with six tackles against Kansas State, and recorded four tackles against Louisiana-Lafayette in his first career start. Jamar notched four stops against SMU, and made six tackles against SMS. He had one tackle against Wyoming. 2002: Ransom played in 11 games and made 15 tackles as a true freshman. He made five tackles against Baylor, which was a season high. He also recorded three tackles against Northern Iowa. High School: An All-State and all-district selection at Andress High School after passing for more than 1,000 yards and rushing for 1,300 yards, Ransom also had 18 rushing touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 47 tackles and three interceptions. Personal: Born July 1, 1984, Jamar is the son of Sharon Ransom. He is majoring in general business at Oklahoma State.
