Five Cowgirls Qualify for NCAA Championships

Junior Alison Erzinger was impressive, by finishing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal record and national qualifying time of 58.31. Erzinger improved six spots, as she entered the Midwest Region ranked No. 10 with a time of 58.88.
“Alison had the best performance and the biggest improvement on the team this season,” head coach Rene Sepulveda said.
In the shot put, senior Halee Prickett qualified for nationals with a throw of 52'1” (16.1-meters) to finish third.
Big 12 Champion, junior Barbora Kuncova, qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a fourth-place finish and a time of 10:26.1. Kuncova now has qualified in two events (3,000-meter steeplechase and 10k) for nationals.
Erzinger, Prickett and Kuncova will join senior Delisa McClain and freshman Mary Davies at the NCAA Track and Field Championships, June 6-9 in
Two other Cowgirls, senior Valentina Medina and senior Paula Ogunbanjo, could earn wild card invitations to nationals, after finishing in the top eight in the region in their events.
