Wrestlers Win at Senior Nationals

Muhammed Lawal and Daniel Cormier both won national titles at 84 kg (185 lbs.) and 96 kg (211.5 lbs.), respectively. Lawal and Cormier both earned byes at the trials for winning the national championship.
Current Cowboy Steve Mocco finished second at 120 kg (263 lbs.), losing to Tolly Thompson in the finals. Mocco pinned Honolulu Mika in seventeen seconds, and advanced to the finals without being scored upon before getting beaten by Thompson.
Johnny Thompson finished seventh at 60 kg (132 lbs.). Former Cowboys and current North Carolina State assistant coach Jerrod Sanders also qualified for the trials by finishing seventh.
Jack Jensen and Tyrone Lewis both failed to place. Lewis, the sixth seed in the tournament, lost to former Iowa State wrestler Nick Passolano.
Freshman Coleman Scott competed in the FILA Junior Nationals and took home a fourth-place finish after defaulting in the consolation finals.
