Cowboy Golf Garners Top Seed for Regional Play

The Cowboys will be the No. 1 seed in the Central Regional with Georgia in the East Regional and Nevada-Las Vegas in the West Regional being the other top seeds. Regional action will be conducted from May 19-21 with the Central Regional being contested at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
Each region consists of 27 teams and six individuals not on selected teams. Ten teams and two individuals on non-advancing teams from each of the three sites will move on to the NCAA Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland on June 1-4.
Since the inception of the current qualifying format in 1989, the Cowboys have captured five regional titles, with the last coming in 2003. During that span, four players have claimed individual medalist honors for OSU as well with Bo Van Pelt being the last player to do so in 1997.
Last year, the Cowboys finished as the regional runner-up to advance to their 58th consecutive NCAA Championship.
