McClain Claims First at Texas Relays

Oklahoma State's Delisa McClain captured the hammer throw championship at the Texas Relays Thursday, in Austin at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
McClain, a senior from Stillwater, Okla., threw for 201'02” (61.32-meters) to claim first-place. McClains throw was nearly four meters better than USC's Julia Rozenfeld, who finished second in the event.
Rounding out the top five were Arkansas's Brandy Blackwood, Auburn's Ronda Gullatte and Kansas's Jennifer Widerstrom.
Day two of the Texas Relays will continue Friday, as Cowgirl junior Barbora Kuncova will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and freshman Brandi Broaddus in the javelin.
