The Cowgirls received a strong showing from senior Michelle Prowse, who set a NCAA regional qualifying mark in her first ever 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing second with a time of 10:20.02.
“It was an amazing performance by Michelle, for just learning the event,” Sepulveda said.
In the 5,000-meter run, freshman Kim Blomkvist set a 72 second personal record in the event, with a time of 17:03.25. Senior Joanna Fedick improved her personal record in the event by 85 seconds, with a time of 17:12.91.
Also for the Cowgirls, freshman Eva Tomankova finished the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:30.41.
“Overall it was a good meet for our outdoor season opener,” Sepulveda said. “We had personal best performances from all the women.”
The Cowgirls will continue outdoor action Saturday, April 2, at the UTA Invitational in
