Sarac finishes strong out West

AZUSA, Calif.- Tihana Sarac finished third in the heptathlon Thursday, at the California Invitational Multi-Event, at Azusa, Calif.
Sarac, a freshman from Kutina, Croatia, improved her personal best by 304 points, set a school and Croatian national record with 4,960 points. Sarac was 40 points from setting an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark.
In six of the seven events of the heptathlon, Sarac set personal records. Those personal records came in the 100-meter hurdles (15.44), high jump (1.50-meters), shot put (39-11.5), 200-meter dash (25.62), javelin (110-06) and the 800-meter run (2:24.07).
“She showed consistency in all seven events of the competition, which is impressive for a freshman. ” head coach Rene Sepulveda said.
The Cowgirls will continue outdoor action Friday, at the Mt. SAC Relays.
