Cowgirls Successful in the Classroom

Oklahoma State's women's cross country and track team received honors at the Student Athlete Academic Awards Ceremony, April 11.

Seniors Michelle Prowse, Valentina Medina and freshman Mary Davies were named Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Association (WICCCA) Academic All-Americans for the 2004 cross country season. Medina was also named United States Track Coaches Association (USTCA) Academic All-American for the 2005 track season.

Both the Cowgirl cross country and track and field teams were named Academic All-American. The cross country team finished the season with a 3.58 grade point average and the track and field team carried a 3.2 grade point average.

Also for the Cowgirls, senior Lisa Bowles carried a 4.0 grade point average through all four years at Oklahoma State.

“Our whole coaching staff is extremely pleased with the academic success this season,” head coach Rene Sepulveda said.
