Cowboys Still Learning
April 01, 2005 | Cowboy Football
Oklahoma State wrapped up the third week of spring football practice, before conducting its first major scrimmage, in shorts during a 2 1/2 hour practice at Boone Pickens Stadium.
Head coach Mike Gundy said the staff uses Thursdays as a lighter day because they go so hard on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The staff also gets an opportunity to teach the younger players on both sides of the ball when they are not going quite as hard.
The Cowboy coaches put in a lot of mental preparation on both sides of the ball. There is still a lot to learn with the new system, and Thursday gives the staff an opportunity to teach the young players what they want.
Oklahoma State will hold its first major scrimmage on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. at Boone Pickens Stadium. The scrimmage is open to the public.
