Carr went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the offense while pitched his first, and the Cowboys second, complete game of the year. The junior from
Carr's two run homer in the sixth gave the Pokes a 3-2 lead. OSU then took advantage of four walks in the seventh to add to the lead. One of the runs came via a bases loaded walk to , while two more came via a single by Carr to extend the lead to 6-2.
Tech starter Ryan Rupert (0-2) allowed five runs, four earned, on three hits with nine strikeouts and four walks in the losing effort.
The Pokes took advantage of a couple of Bulldog miscues to plate a run in the third to take a 1-0 lead. OSU returned the favor in the bottom of the inning when a throwing error by allowed two runs to score. Tech had two runners on with two outs, when struck out Gil Laird on a pitch in the dirt. Parrish's routine throw to first sailed into the rightfield corner allowing both runners to touch home plate.
