McClain Sets School Record in the Hammer

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Delisa McClain captured a first-place finish in hammer throw on Friday, as the Cowgirls hosted the hammer competitions that is part of the Tulsa Duels, in Stillwater. Â

McClain, a senior from Stillwater, Okla., set a school record of 202-11(61.86-meters) and earned a NCAA regional qualifying mark with the throw. Â

Also in the hammer throw, freshman Delanor Kirkpatrick took third-place with a throw of 154-1(46.96-meters) and freshman Brandi Broaddus threw for 131-0 (39.92-meters) finishing sixth.

The Tulsa Duels will continue on Saturday, with the running and other field events being held at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports and Recreation Complex, in Tulsa.

At the California Multi Event-Meet, Cowgirl freshman Tihana Sarac finished eighth in the heptathalon, as she set a school record with 4,684 points.
