Cowboys Take Over First Place At Hall of Fame Invitational

The Cowboys will enter tomorrow's final round with a 36-hole total of 562, 14-under, a one-shot lead on UNLV and 12 strokes clear of first-round leader TCU.
OSU is well represented on the individual leadberboard as well, with three of the top five players in the field wearing orange and black. Four of the Cowboys' five starters broke par on the day, three of which broke 70 as they made their charge up the board.
Freshman Pablo Martin and junior Zack Robinson will enter play tomorrow tied for second and one shot behind the Rebels' Ryan Moore. The duo fired rounds of 69 and 67, respectively, for 36-hole scores of 5-under 139.
The day's most impressive performance came from sophomore Tyler Leon, who blistered the par-72, 7,352-yard layout with a tournament record 64 to vault himself into a tie for fourth place at 140 after beginning the day tied for 52nd. The Dallas, Texas native's score tied a career best and was the result of a bogey-free round that was highlighted by eight birdies.
Senior Alex Norén followed up his 74 on Friday with a 77 to slide into a tie for 60th at 151 with a group that includes sophomore teammate Ryan Posey, who rebounded from an opening-round 81 with a 2-under 70.
A pair of Cowboys entered the event as individuals. Sophomore Zac Reynolds is tied for 96th at 158 after a second-day score of 83, while junior Chris Clarke is alone in 101st place after a 76 on Saturday to post a 159 total.
Tournament action will conclude on Sunday with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
