McClain Grabs First Cowgirl Big 12 Indoor Title

“She did amazing, and all of her training up to this point has paid off,” throwing coach Teri Steer said. “It was huge for our team to get our first indoor champion, and we are ready to take this mark into nationals and do better.”
“It feels good to be a Big 12 champion,” Delisa McClain said. “I made a big step from last year, and this is a preview for the outdoor season.”

Freshman Tihana Sarac finished tenth in the pentathlon with 3,297 points. Nebraska's Ashley Selig won the title with 4,269 points, and was also the second best performance ever in the history of the Big 12 in the event.
In the preliminary round of the mile run, junior Barbora Kuncova finished fourth with a time of 4:49.66 and senior Valentina Medina finished fifth with a time of 4:52.81, which advanced both to finals.
Senior Michelle Prowse and freshman Eva Tomankova qualified for the finals in the 1,000-meter run, as they finished second and seventh, respectively.
The Cowgirls also received a 14th-place finish from senior Joanna Fedick in the same race.
