Cowgirls Win Bedlam Match at Big 12 Indoor Championships

The Cowgirls had a strong performance from senior Paula Ogunbanjo, who placed sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 40-09.00 (12.42 meters), giving the Cowgirls three team points.
“It was tough competition that gave me good experience in my last indoor meet,” senior Paula Ogunbanjo said. “
Junior Barbora Kuncova finished fifth with a time of 4:50.57 and senior Valentina Medina finished seventh with a time of 4:58.58 in the mile run, as they added six points to the team total.
In the 3k, senior Michelle Prowse finished sixth with a time of 9:36.97 and Kuncova had a time of 9:36.47 to finish in fifth-place, scoring seven points for the Cowgirls.
Senior Joanna Fedick also competed in the event and finished with a personal best 10:07.06. Fedick also had a personal best in the 1,000-meters with a time of 3:00.01.
Prowse (2:51.69) and freshman Eva Tomankova (2:53.36) competed in the 1,000-meter run, as they finished fifth and seventh, respectively.
In the shot put, senior Halee Prickett threw for 50-05.50 (15.38 meters) to place second and freshman Brandi Broaddus had a 13thÂplace finish with a throw of 42-09.00 (13.03 meters). Prickett's finish gave the Cowgirls eight team points.
“She had probably the most inspirational performance for our team,” Sepulveda said. “Halee struggled with a back injury since January, and for her to come back and finish second is a big accomplishment.”
