Cowboy Golf In Fifth Place At Puerto Rico Classic

The top-ranked Cowboys, who are coming off a record-setting victory at the Taylor Made Waikoloa Intercollegiate, were one of eight teams to break par on the Rio Mar Country Club's River Course. OSU finished the day four shots off the pace of tournament leader Georgia and two shots behind Clemson and Georgia Tech for third place.
Individually, junior Zack Robinson fired a 4-under 68 during his first round of the spring season to end play tied for fourth. The Ft. Worth, Texas native was joined in the top 10 by freshman Pablo Martin, who posted a 69 to stand in a tie for seventh.
Senior Alex Norén carded an even-par 72 to come in tied for 30th.
Coming off his first career victory at the Waikoloa Intercollegiate, sophomore Tyler Leon tied for 38th after opening play with a 73, while sophomore Ryan Posey turned in a 76 on Sunday to stand in a tie for 66th.
The Cowboys will begin their second round tomorrow morning on the par-72, 6,945-yard layout at 6 a.m. (CST) before wrapping up play with Tuesday's final round.
