Kuncova sets Czech Republic National Record

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Barbora Kuncova set the Czech Republic national record in the 5k run at the Tyson Invitational, in Fayetteville, Ark., last Saturday Feb. 12.
Kuncova, a junior from Doubravice, Czech Republic, set the record with a time of 16:24.01 that improved her NCAA qualifying mark. Kuncova is ranked No. 20 nationally and ranked No. 3 in the Big 12 in the event.
Kuncova is the second Cowgirl this year to set a national record for her native country. Freshman Tihana Sarac set the record in the pentathlon for her native Croatia. Sarac set the record scoring over 3,400 points in the event at the J.D. Martin Invitational in Norman, Okla., Feb. 5.
