The Cowboys snapped a two-game losing streak to improve to 5-3 on the year, while the Bearcats lost their season opener.
Carr had a two-run homer, a triple and two doubles in the contest. He was a single short of the cycle going into his last at bat, but ripped a RBI double down the left field line in the eighth inning.
Junior (2-1) allowed three runs, two earned, in eight innings of work with five strikeouts to pick up the win. Sophomore struck out the side in the ninth as the Pokes retired the final five Bearcats via the strike out.
Zachary Groh (0-1) allowed six runs, five earned, in 3.2 innings of work in the losing effort. Rightfielder Aaron Davis led BU with two hits and an RBI, while designated hitter Mathieu Bergeron chipped in with a solo homer.
Carr opened the scoring with his two-run homer in the second inning, but
Third baseman blasted his first career homer in the bottom of the third, a two-run shot, and Carr added a RBI double to extend the lead to 5-1. OSU added another run in the fourth and had a five-run sixth inning to put the game away. Catcher had a two-run single and Carr brought him home with a triple to lead the way in the frame.
