Cowgirl Soccer Signs Two International Standouts To Letters Of Intent
February 16, 2005 | Cowgirl Soccer
Feldbacher, a forward/midfielder from Bad Reichenhall, Germany, has played in 22 games for the German Under-19 National Team. The well-decorated national team won the 2004 FIFA World Championship and was the runner-up at the 2004 UEFA Under-19 European Championships.
“Angelika is an unbelievably quick athlete who plays as a forward and is very good one-on-one,” commented Carmichael. “We expect her to come in and score a lot of goals right away. She is very strong and works extremely hard defensively to track people down and close them down.”
A native of Landsberg, Germany, Grossman has also excelled on the international level, playing in 11 games for the German Under-17 National Team and representing Germany at the 2002 Nordic Cup. In addition, Grossman served as the captain of the Bavarian All-Star team in 2002 and was named the MVP at the German National Championships.
“Bettina is an intelligent player who reads the game very well, has exceptional passing ability and is a very technically sound player,” stated associate head coach Colin Carmichael. “She plays either as a defensive midfielder or center back and will be one of the smartest players on our team.”
Feldbacher and Grossman will join Leah Hope (Tulsa, Okla.) and Jessica Jarrell (Highland Village, Texas) as newcomers to the Cowgirl Soccer program in the fall.
