Cowboys Prepare for Tough Weekend
February 11, 2005 | Cowboy Wrestling
The Lehigh dual has been sold out sine Jan. 20, when tickets first went on sale. It is the largest advance sellout for a wrestling match in Lehigh history. Temporary seating had to be made available to accommodate students and faculty. The expected attendance of 5,828 will be a dual meet record for Lehigh inside the 5,600 seat Stabler Arena.
Oklahoma State defeated Lehigh 20-16 in the semifinal round of the National Duals back on Jan. 22. The Cowboys are now 6-0 all-time against the Mountain Hawks. The top ranked Cowboys are 18-0, while Lehigh comes into the dual at 19-3.
OSU and Hofstra will meet for the first time in the history of the two programs. Hofstra is 9-4, but handed Lehigh won of its three losses on the season.
Jake Rosholt will have a tough day wrestling second-ranked Chris Skretkowicz of Hofstra before battling Lehigh's No. 3 Jon Trenge, who handed Rosholt his only loss on the season. Johny Hendricks will also get a second crack at Lehigh's top-ranked Troy Letters, who won an overtime decision in their semifinal matchup at the National Duals.
The Cowboys return home next weekend for senior day when they face Bedlam rival Oklahoma in a 2 p.m. Sunday match Gallagher-Iba Arena.
