Cowboy Golf Leads After First Round At Waikoloa Intercollegiate

The third-ranked Cowboys finished one shot clear of Southern California after all five of OSU's players broke par on the par-72, 6,791-yard Waikoloa Village Golf Club.
Sophomore Tyler Leon blistered the layout with an 8-under, 64 to better his previous career-low round by three strokes. The Dallas, Texas, native will begin his second round in a three-way tie for first place, joining Augusta State's Emmett Turner and Kansas' Tyler Docking atop the leaderboard.
Redshirt sophomore Ryan Posey broke 70 for the third time in seven career rounds for the Cowboys, turning in a 65 to tie USC's Taylor Wood and Bradley Shaw for fourth place.
Senior Alex Norén recorded his low round of the year with a 67 to end play tied with four other players for 12th place, while freshman Pablo Martin came in tied for 17th after an opening round of 68.
Sophomore Zac Reynolds rebounded from a 37 on the front nine with a 34 on the inward nine to card a 1-under, 71 and finish in a tie for 59th place.
OSU will begin its second round tomorrow morning before closing out the event with Friday's final round.
