Trejo runs unattached at White Rock Half Marathon

DALLAS, Texas - Oklahoma State's Maria Trejo finished 83rd out of 3,131 runners, as she ran unattached at the White Rock Half Marathon, on Nov. 5 in Dallas.

Trejo, a native of Bedford, Texas, ran the 13.1 mile race in a time of 1:26.

The sophomore, who is redshirting this cross country season, also set a personal record in the 6-kilometer with a time of 22:42, when she ran unattached at Chile Pepper Invitational on Oct. 15. Trejo improved her personal record by nearly two minutes, with her previous best time of 24:31 coming at last year's ORU Classic.

“Maria is one of our most improved athletes,” Cowgirl head coach Rene Sepulveda said. “She has a chance to break 22 minutes next season.”

Trejo will have two seasons of cross country and three seasons of track eligibility left.
