Cowgirl track and field signs talented transfer

STILLWATER, Okla. Â— Oklahoma State's women's track and field team has announced the signing of transfer Moira Steyn to a National Letter of Intent from the University of Pretoria on Wednesday.

Steyn, a native of Petoria, South Africa, will be eligible to compete this spring, when she will focus on competing in the triple and long jump events.

Steyn, who stands 6'1, earned her biggest achievements in 2004, when she won the South African national championship in the triple jump (12.25-meters), while finishing third in long jump (6.25-meters).

“Moria is the first of three jumpers we will sign this year,” Cowgirl head coach Rene Sepulveda said. “She will help replace Paula Ogunabanjo, who finished third in the triple jump at last year's Big 12 Outdoor Championships.

“Moria has the chance to challenge our school record in the long jump, while she could see steady improvement in the triple jump.”
