Cowgirls top Big 12 in academics

The Cowgirls had seven of their student-athletes named to the first-team, which included seniors Michelle Prowse and Valentina Medina, sophomores Eva Tomankova, Mary Davies and Kim Blomkvist, and redshirt freshmen Meghan Sullivan and Brittany Hill. OSU's two other nominees, senior Barbora Kuncova and sophomore Erin Dalbey, were named to the second-team. Prowse was the lone Cowgirl to achieve a 4.0 grade point average.
“We are proud to have nearly 40 percent of our cross country squad Academic All-Big 12,” Cowgirl head coach Rene Sepulveda said. “We want to continue to produce the same quality of student-athletes.”
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 grade point average of either cumulative of the previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of her team's schedule contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percentage of participation are also eligible.
