Pair of Cowgirls finish strong at ORU Oklahoma Classic

TULSA, Okla., - Oklahoma State's Kim Blomkvist led the Cowgirls' “B Team” to a third-place finish at the ORU Oklahoma Classic Saturday. Oral Roberts captured the team title, while claiming the top three individual performances.

Blomkvist, a sophomore from Strangnas, Sweden, had the Cowgirl's top individual performance, finishing fifth with a time of 19:06.

The Cowgirls were also led by redshirt freshman Brittany Hill, who ran the 5k course in a time of 20:32 to finish 10^th.

Freshmen Meghan Sullivan, Jennifer Clarke and Kalea Tam claimed top 25 finishes to help OSU score 63 team points, as they placed 14^th, 15^th and 25^th, respectively.

“I think all of our runners were pleased by each of their performances,” volunteer coach Jerry Crockett said. “The girls ran hard, as they were passing people toward the end.”

OSU will return to action Saturday, when they travel to the Chili Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
