2004: Ward began the year as the Cowboy starter at the 157 pound weight class ... posted a record of 14-5 on the season ... took third-place at the Reno Tournament of Champions ... best win came against teammate Johny Hendricks who eventually replaced him in the starting lineup ... recorded one fall and five major decisions on the season.
2003: Ward battled an injury during the first part of the year, but managed to wrestle his way to a 4-1 record, with his lone loss coming at the National Duals ... the only tournament he competed in was the Roger Denker Open, where he came away with a tournament title.
2002: Wrestling in open tournaments for the Cowboys, Ward compiled a 21-7 record with three wins coming by fall and five by major decision ... he finished in the top three at the Cliff Keen Open, FHSU-Bob Smith Open and the Roger Denker Open ... during the summer, he competed in FILA junior freestyle events.
High School: Kevin graduated from Soddy-daisy High School where he wrestled all four years ... he was a three-time state champion and one time runner-up ... Ward went 183-8 in his high school career.
Personal: Ward was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and is the son of Bobby Ward ... Kevin has a brother, Dustin, who wrestles at Tennessee-Chattanooga ... is majoring in sociology ... he enjoys fishing and riding horses ... he was born on Jan. 26, 1983.
