2004: Posted a 12-6 record wrestling in mostly open tournaments, but did compete in two duals for the Cowboys ... lost a tough 4-2 decision to fifth-ranked Sam Hazewinkel of Oklahoma in the semifinals of the national duals ... won a 3-2 decision over Lehigh's Mario Stuart ... had one fall coming in three minutes, 27 seconds ... his other 11 victories came by decision.
2003: Posted a 16-10 record for the Cowboys while wrestling in open tournaments ... he also wrestled in his first dual for the Pokes ... his highest finish last year was at the Roger Denker Open when he placed second behind Austin DeVoe of Missouri ... Stevens also posted a pair of top-five finishes at the CMSU Open and the Kaufman Open.
2002: Stevens wrestled in open tournaments for the Pokes, compiling a 21-5 record, during his redshirt season ... he finished second at the Cliff Keen Open and the FHSU-Bob Smith Open ... Stevens also recorded third-place finishes at the Oklahoma Open and the Roger Denker Open ... At the Central Missouri State Open, he battled his way to the final match, but fell short to Erkin Tadzhimelov of Central Oklahoma to finish second.
High School: Stevens wrestled at Norman High where he was a two-time state champion and was one of two wrestlers to win the Perry Tournament three consecutive times ... Stevens was also on the honor roll and debate team.
Personal: Stevens was born in Norman, Okla., and is the son of Greg and Donna Stevens ... he has one brother, Greg, and one sister, Stephanie ... is a pre-med major, while studying biology ... enjoys reading and hunting in his spare time ... he was born on Sept. 25, 1980.
