Pablo Martin Named Big 12 Golfer of the Month

Oklahoma State sophomore Pablo Martin has been named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for tournaments played through Oct. 3 it was announced today by the league office.

A three-time recipient of the award, Martin was chosen after tying for first place at the Ping/Golfweek Preview held at the Sunriver Resort's Crosswater Course in Sunriver, Ore. He finished with an 11-under-par total of 205 that included a career-low round of 64. The national freshman of the year last season, Martin is currently ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.

The win was the third of the Malaga, Spain, native's career and marked the second year in a row he has won the Preview.

Martin and the second-ranked Cowboys will resume their fall schedule on Oct. 23 when they travel to Windermere, Fla., to take part in the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational.
