Cowgirls finish fourth at Roy Griak Invitational

Senior Barbora Kuncova was the Cowgirls top individual performer with a 19th-place finish, helping OSU past eight ranked teams.
“She had a solid performance today,” said head coach Rene Sepulveda. “I was pleased because her mileage was very high this week.”
OSU was also led by the running attack of sophomore Mary Davies, senior Valentina Medina and junior Eva Slavikova, as they finished 27th, 31st and 51st, respectively.
Sophomore Eva Tomankova continued to shine for the Cowgirls, as she helped OSU edge past
“Eva (Tomankova) has made a dramatic improvement from last season,” Sepulveda said.
Freshmen Anissa Angelosante and Nina Andersson also ran well, as they finished with times of
“I am happy the way our girls ran based on the intensity of training this week ,” Sepulveda said. “I think we will get better as the season goes on because we are holding our front runners back until the end of the season"
“We are running well as a team, not just individually. I am pleased how the girls are starting to compete on a national level.”
The Cowgirls will return to action Saturday, when they host the 69th annual Cowboy Jamboree.
