Cowboys to play fall World Series
October 22, 2005 | Cowboy Baseball
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the Cowboys will be split into two teams and face each other in game uniforms with an umpiring crew present. Times have not yet been determined for the games, but they are open to the public and admission is free.
“Since the NCAA no longer allows us to play other teams in the fall, this will be the first time we're able to put some pressure on the guys to see how they perform,” said coach Frank Anderson.
While Anderson said the World Series will be a good indicator of how the guys perform in live action, he said the games will not necessarily determine who will be starting in the spring.
“Kids can physically change for the good and the bad between now and the spring,” said the third-year coach. “The month they have off beginning in December can be crucial.
“The thing the World Series will give us is an idea of who can handle the pressure when it comes time to play.”
