Cowgirls Hit the Road to Face Iowa State and Nebraska

Oklahoma State will hit the road this weekend for two Big 12 road games at Iowa State and Nebraska. The Cowgirls are coming off of a win against Baylor and a tie aganst 19th-ranked Texas A&M. This weekend will have a lot to say about who makes the Big 12 Tournament as all three teams are currently tied for seventh-place in the Big 12 standings. Iowa State leads the all-time series with the Cowgirls with a 4-3-2 record. OSU last won in Ames in the first year of the progam back in 1996. Nebraska holds an 8-1 record all-time against OSU. OSU's only win in the series came in Lincoln in 2002.
Scouting the Cyclones
Iowa State comes into the contest with an 8-5-3 record and a 3-3-1 mark in Big 12 play. The Cyclones are in the midst of a two-game losing streak after losing at Baylor and then at home against Texas. Iowa State does boast a win on the road over nationally ranked Texas A&M. The Cyclones are led by their all-conference goalkeeper Joanna Haig. The sophomore has allowed 18 goals and recorded 82 saves on the season. Opponents are only scoring on eight percent of their shots against ISU. On offense, ISU boasts won of the conference's leading goal scorers in Amy Flores. Flores has scored eight goals this season, but leads the conference with six goals in Big 12 games. Renee de St. Aubin is second on the team with four goals.
Scouting the Cornhuskers
Nebraska comes into the game with a 9-5-1 record and a 3-2-1 mark in the Big 12. NU is coming off of an overtime loss on the road at Texas. The Cornhuskers are led offensively by forwards Brittany Timko and Aysha Jamani. Timko leads the Huskers in points with four goals and 14 assists. Timko's 14 assists rank fourth nationally. Jamani leads the team in goals scored with six. Jamie Klages leads the Cornhusker defense in goal. Klages has allowed just nine goals this season and has recorded 46 saves on the season.
Rankin Named Defensive Player of the Week
Junior goalkeeper Jeanne Rankin earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors with her performance against Baylor and Texas A&M (10/14-16). Rankin recorded four saves against Baylor to earn her fourth shutout of the season. Against Texas A&M, Rankin recorded eight saves and helped preserve the tie late in the game with a couple of tremendous saves.
Rosholt Making an Immediate Impact
Jesyca Rosholt has made her presence known since she arrived at Oklahoma State. The junior transfer from Northern Arizona is making her way up the single season charts. She has now scored 11 goals in her first 12 games as a Cowgirl. She has five assists to go along with her 11 goals to give her 27 points on the season. Her 27 points are currently tops in the Big 12 and her 11 goals are tied for the conference lead. Both numbers are the fifth highest season total in OSU history.
Sharing the Wealth
Oklahoma State has scored 45 goals this season. Jesyca Rosholt currently leads the team with 11 goals. Yolanda Odenyo snd Ashlyn Brantley are both second on the team with five goals. Odenyo, Johanna Loistl, Adriane Radtke, Angelika Feldbacher, Jamie Markaverich and Rosholt have all scored two goals in a game already this season. Rosholt is the only Cowgirl to score a hat trick when she did so against Tulsa (9/18). The Cowgirls have recorded 37 assists to go along with those 45 goals.
