Rankin Earns First Big 12 Honor
October 18, 2005 | Cowgirl Soccer
Rankin is the fourth Cowgirl honored by the Big 12 this season, and it is the third time OSU had had the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.
The Oklahoma City native recorded four saves as OSU shutout Baylor on Oct. 14. It was Rankin's fourth shutout of the season.
On Sunday, Rankin recorded a career high eight saves and helped Oklahoma State preserve a tie in overtime against 19th-ranked Texas A&M. The Aggies had several scoring opportunities late in the game, but Rankin stepped up to the challenge each time.
Rankin, a transfer from Colorado, has allowed 10 goals this season and recorded 34 saves, despite having to play with a brace for a knee injury suffered earlier this season.
The Cowgirls travel to Iowa State and Nebraska before closing out the season at home against Oklahoma on Oct. 28.
